Posting Images in Messages

NOTE:  At TheGardenArtForum.Com we believe that what you post belongs to you.  Unlike many forums, we make no claim whatsoever regarding the use of your images or anything else you post here.  However, if you should post something we find really appealing and that we think all the members would enjoy seeing, we may contact you to see if you would consider allowing us to display it prominently on the Homepage or in our "Hall of Fame Archive".  But either way, it's your image and it's your call.  We will always respect your wishes.

Images may be embedded in any message you post on the Forums by simply creating a link to the address on the Internet where that image resides.  But you must have the image uploaded onto a site such as Yahoo Photos, Photobucket or Flickr before it can be linked.  Direct uploading from an individual's computer is not supported for security reasons.

Use the "IMG" button located above the message box to insert it anywhere in the message you want, then copy & paste the address for the image.  IMPORTANT:  Make certain that you immediately "close" the tag after each image by either reclicking "IMG" or by using the "Close Tags" function.  It will appear as an HTML tag until you Preview or Submit the message.  Placing it on the left margin is recommended to avoid confusing text wraps.  Likewise for starting any text that may follow the pic.   The same is true anytime you insert any object such as "Quotes", "Lists" or "URL's".  You may add as many images as you like to any message, but please size them to a maximum width of 450 pixels so that they will load quickly and not take up unecessary space.

Applying a Copyright or Watermark is recommended since anything you post anywhere on the Internet can be copied & used by anyone.

Inserting a Link Into a Message

Hyperlinks can be created by simply clicking the "URL" button located above the message box and inserting the address anywhere in the message you want it to appear.  IMPORTANT:  Make certain that you immediately "close" the tag after each link by either reclicking "URL" or by using the "Close Tags" function.  The same is true anytime you insert any object such as "Quotes", "Lists" or "Images".

What about Advertising & Competing Forums?

We feel that all memebers should feel free to make suggestions & recommendations regarding any products, services or websites that are related to their interests.  Hey, after all, recommendations by our friends is one of the things we come here for.  By the same token, messages that are blatantly being employed to simply push a brand or product on our members will not fly.  I will therefore leave it to the Member Moderators to have the final say in that matter.  They are your representatives and are charged with seeing to it that this forum is run in such a way that it is the Members best interests that are served.

NOTE:  If you would like to participate as a Moderator and help shape this forum, please contact Admin.  We want this site run by the people who use it.

Anyone wishing to present their products or services to our members is invited to contact sales@thegardenartforum.com.  If we determine that it will be genuinely advantageous to our membership to present them here and that your advertising & warrantee practices meet our standards, we will be happy to discuss their inclusion.
